How to change the hostname?

To change the hostname on your server

If you are running C-Panel, Login to WHM and use the "Change Hostname" under Server Setting

If you are running a Linux VPS or Linux server then edit

/etc/hostname

For CentOS based system you need to also edit
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
/etc/sysconfig/network

For FreeBSD Dedicated servers edit /etc/rc.conf

If you have a FreeBSD jail please contact support
